covid-19: SAFETY Protocol
We hope you and your families are in good health during these difficult times. While many things have changed, one thing remains the same, our commitment to your children’s dental health, safety and overall well-being. It will be necessary to see a reduced volume of patients on a daily basis. This is to comply with guidelines on social distancing and infection control from state and national agencies. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this process and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We will do our best to accommodate you.
- We will wear additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as recommended by the CDC and OSHA, including special masks, face shields and gowns. All employees are screened for symptoms and have temperatures checked daily. We stay up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued
- We will call you 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled appointments. We will ask you several pre-screening questions as well as address any questions or concerns you may have. You can also go on our website www.pdsa-ltd.com log in under patient login (green bar on top right corner) or if this is your first time logging in go to new patient questionnaires (green bar on top right corner) and fill out COVID-19 Pre-screening questionnaire. If we are unable to contact you for you pre-screen phone call or do not receive the online questionnaire, your appointment is at risk of being canceled.
- At home on day of appointment, please have your child go to bathroom prior to leaving for appointment (we discourage use of public bathroom), have teeth freshly brushed, bring sunglasses for the patient and masks for everyone.
- We have a “virtual waiting room.” When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in your car, and call us at 815-462-3030 (New Lenox). We will then notify you when to come inside.
- Every person entering the office will be required to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask your appointment will have to be rescheduled, (unfortunately we are unable to provide masks for you)
- There will be only 1 parent and 1 child to enter the office (if other children from your family are to be seen the same day they will have to wait in the car with appropriate supervision until they are ready to be seen).
- When you come into the office, we will greet you at the door, provide hand sanitizer, screen you and your child for symptoms, and take temperature on everyone. The appointment will be rescheduled if any person (patient or guardian) has a temperature over 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit. Once prescreening is completed, your child will be taken directly back to the operatory. It is highly recommended that children come back to operatory alone and parents can return to their cars till the appointment is over, which we will then call you to let you know and have you return to check out.
- Our waiting room and treatment rooms will be cleared of toys, books and games.
- The American Dental Association has requested insurance companies help cover the increased cost of the necessary PPE. We are making every effort to get this fee covered by your insurance company, but we cannot make any guarantees. We will now have an Infection Control Fee of $15 per patient per visit.
We are so thankful to have you as a patient, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Generand Algenio and Staff
